This year’s Promesa y Esperanza Radio Training seminar took place Jan. 25–27, in Memphis, Tenn. Radio executives and personnel from across the country came to St. Jude to tour the hospital, meet patients and attend informative sessions on developing and implementing successful Promesa y Esperanza radiothons.

Since its inception in 1997, Promesa y Esperanza has grown to be one of the most successful radio fundraising programs in the U.S. Hispanic market, raising more than $25 million in pledges. There are 75 stations in more than 40 radio markets across the United States committed to the program.

Built on the same foundation as the Country Cares for St. Jude Kids® radiothons, Promesa y Esperanza provides radio stations with everything they need for a successful two-day radiothon, from brochures to volunteer phone operators to Spanish-speaking St. Jude families who can give listeners a first-hand account of what the hospital means to them.
