Call Center Operations
Call Center Operations raises funds and builds brand awareness by recruiting and retaining valued donors and volunteers and creating advocacy to help St. Jude find cures and save children. The Volunteer Event Recruitment team uses two in-house recruitment centers to recruit volunteers to host successful fundraising events such as Math-A-Thon, Trike-A-Thon, Saddle Up, Cruisin', Workout and Martial Arts. The Volunteer Event Marketing team fulfills materials sent to event coordinators and participants and is responsible for marketing these programs through various mass marketing channels, managing print and incentive inventory levels, evaluating new program ideas, and developing new marketing initiatives for targeted audiences. The Outsourced Operations team serves as liaison to internal development divisions and external call centers and works between the two to support multiple, large call centers and various fundraising programs. The Shared Services team manages large volunteer events on campus in conjunction with the Marketing division's Events team — such as volunteer check presentations and tours — as well as large call center employee events and product launches
The Corporate Alliances division of ALSAC forms mutually-beneficial long-term partnerships with corporations that offer reach and revenue to support the mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Areas of focus for Corporate Alliances include the national Thanks and Giving® and Music Gives to St. Jude Kids campaigns. The Thanks and Giving campaign, an unprecedented coming together of celebrities, media and corporate partners, is held in November and December each year, where more than 60 of the nation's leading brands join together to support the St. Jude mission. Music Gives is the newest initiative to benefit St. Jude, and the program enlists artists large and small, emerging and established, to join St. Jude in the fight against childhood cancer.
Corporate Alliances also creates and oversees a variety of cause marketing programs, Workplace Giving initiatives, as well as sponsorships programs or events that benefit the hospital.
The Donor Care Division focuses on our donors as assets and is committed to enhancing the donation experience, retaining our valued donor base and, through advanced methods, striving to make ALSAC more efficient and effective.
The Executive Office Divisions work on behalf of the CEO and senior leadership team to integrate strategy, policy and business continuity into ALSAC operational and business objectives. This includes managing communications with the Board of Directors and Governors and the senior leadership team of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; equipping the CEO and senior leadership team with critical information related to ALSAC strategy and operational objectives; managing event and operational processes critical to CEO’s efforts to support the life-saving mission of St. Jude; providing thought leadership on ways to position ALSAC for future success through dynamic cross divisional collaboration within ALSAC.
Field Operations acquires and cultivates volunteers and donors through grassroots fundraising events to support the life-saving mission of St. Jude. Thirteen regions conduct thousands of events each year, including radiothons, Dream Home campaigns, galas, pin-up promotions, college fundraisers, golf tournaments, and fitness programs. In collaboration with the other development divisions, Field Operations empowers fundraising ambassadors in communities across the country.
Departments in Field Operations include the following: Radio Marketing, Dream Home Marketing, National Program Marketing, Operations & Budget, and regional offices throughout the country and Puerto Rico.
The Gift Planning department is dedicated to raising significant gifts from individuals and foundations to support the mission of St. Jude both now and in the future. The department cultivates, generates and stewards planned gifts including bequests, charitable trusts and gift annuities, as well as major gifts of $25,000 and more. Gift Planning works closely with other divisions within ALSAC to identify potential donors, nurture strong long-term relationships with them, enhance their donor experience and steward their gifts.
Gift Planning comprises three main areas: Major Gifts, which includes major and planned gifts, Research, and Foundation Relations; Bequests, Stewardship and Business Systems, which also includes Administrative Support and Special Projects; and Lead Generation and Development, which also includes Donor Recognition and Funding Opportunities as well as Donor Relations. In the field, our Senior Philanthropic Advisors serve as St. Jude ambassadors for donors of major and planned gifts, and our Philanthropic Advisors are stewards for members of the Danny Thomas - St. Jude Society, which is made up of donors who have included St. Jude in their estate plans
The ALSAC Human Resources department works as a strategic partner to support the goals and objectives of the ALSAC mission. This dedicated staff promotes a work environment that is characterized by inclusion and respect, fairness, open communication, personal accountability and trust. From recruitment and employee development to compensation and benefits, the Human Resources team provides services to the organization's most important resource -- employees.
Information Technology Services (ITS)
The Information Technology Services division is responsible for the operation, enhancement, maintenance and support of all ALSAC technologies, as well as the deployment of strategic business driven solutions that use technology to enable growth in a changing environment. ITS strives to provide cost-effective, up-to-date and timely information technology systems, equipment, applications and resources. The division comprises six main departments: Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Support, Mass Marketing Technology, Planning and Quality, Relational Marketing Technology and Support Technology.
The Legal Department's goal is to serve as a proactive function supporting the fundraising activities of ALSAC for the support of research and treatment at St. Jude, in matters ranging from compliance, contracting and estates administration to assisting the fundraisers in designing effective and efficient programs that meet our organization's mission.
Additionally, the Legal Department reviews and registers trademarks, monitors trademark infringement, and investigates unauthorized fundraising issues. They also research international fundraising laws in order to maintain proper compliance in those areas.
The International Partnerships department is focused on expanding our international fundraising by leveraging the mission of and cultivating major gifts in global markets where the St. Jude message might resonate. International Partnerships works in collaboration with other ALSAC divisions to identify potential sources for international donations including individual, corporate, foundation and direct marketing.
The Marketing division engages the public by sharing the St. Jude story in a compelling way through multichannel campaigns. From brand strategy to brochures, public relations to patient outreach, video production to virtual hospital tours, and email blasts to event management, the Marketing team bolsters fundraising efforts for ALSAC's national programs, regional events and corporate partnerships. There are six departments in the Marketing division:
National Direct Marketing
The mission of National Direct Marketing (NDM) is to acquire, profile, cultivate and retain St. Jude donors through television, Internet, telefunding, and direct mail channels in order to provide the necessary cash flow to support the needs of the hospital. Our donor acquisition and cultivation also serve to provide Gift Planning and other departments with donor leads for their individualized development strategies. Through education and communication, NDM will always strive to provide a top donor experience, while maintaining a gratifying work environment for our team members. NDM is made up of Donor Cultivation, TV Acquisition and Fundraising Programs; and Production and Analysis.
