Administration and Finance

The Administration and Finance departments are responsible for general office-management duties such as:

  • Producing the monthly financial statements,
  • Banking relationships
  • Accounts Payable
  • Facilities maintenance, which includes utilities, alarm systems, parking, grounds keeping, construction and repairs, pest control, etc.
  • Procurement of all ALSAC automobiles, maintenance of ALSAC's NEO cars
  • Acquisition and inventories all office supplies
  • Responsible for American Express, AAA, ARI and ALSAC business cards

 

Communications
The Communications department designs and produces thousands of fundraising resources required to support ALSAC's national programs, regional events and corporate partnerships. Communications has oversight responsibility for branding issues, ALSAC Internet/intranet content and information management. The Communications department comprises these areas: Marketing Communications/Account Services, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Video Production, Interactive Media, Information Management and Traffic.

The Event and Patient Liaison department, which is under the Communications purview, manages events on St. Jude campus, coordinates patient participation in ALSAC events and provides consultation and support for crisis management issues that arise.

 

Corporate Alliances
Corporate Alliances is ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's fundraising division responsible for the evaluation, development and management of commercial/corporate alliances, such as sponsorships, cause marketing, corporate gifts and corporate in-kind contributions.

The Corporate Alliances department comprises these areas: Corporate Development, Thanks and Giving®, Corporate Relations, Employee Giving, Matching Gifts and Corporate Marketing Services.

 

Digital Internet Group ( DIG)
The mission of the Digital Internet Group is to provide fast, flexible and rich interactive Internet solutions with a focus on the donor experience. Our main objective is to generate revenue by remaining open to new ideas, by continually testing programs & by providing easy to use, engaging interactive experiences.

 

Donor Care
ALSAC's Donor Care Division is committed to enhancing the donation experience and retaining our valued donor base. Donor Care strives to make ALSAC more efficient and effective through advanced methods. The Donor Care Division is comprised of strategic and diverse functions which include Donor Experience Management, Lean Six Sigma, Market Research and Analysis, Donor Services, Gift Processing, Outsourced Operations, Merchandise Marketing and the Production Center.

 

Field Operations
Volunteers are the life-blood of special event fundraising for St. Jude. Their efforts are supported by 16 Field Operations regions across the country. Through school-based programs, galas, fashion shows, golf tournaments and radiothons. Field Operations staff boost volunteer efforts to raise nearly $200 million for the hospital.

In total, volunteers organized more than 32,000 grass-roots level events this year. These events and their organizers share one thing in common -- our founder, Danny Thomas' dream that 'no child should die in the dawn of life.'

 

Gift Planning
The Gift Planning department is dedicated to raising significant gifts from individuals and foundations to support the mission of St. Jude both now and in the future. We cultivate, generate and steward planned gifts including bequests, charitable trusts and gift annuities, as well as major gifts of $100,000 and more. Gift Planning works closely with other divisions within ALSAC to identify potential donors, nurture strong long-term relationships with them, enhance their donor experience and steward their gifts.

Gift Planning is comprised of four main areas: Principal Gifts, which includes Leadership Gifts, Donor Recognition, Major Gifts and Research; Foundation Relations; Bequests; and Donor Relations and Stewardship, which includes Marketing, Stewardship, Gift Compliance, Donor Events, Special Projects and Administrative Support. In the field, our Senior Philanthropic Advisors serve as St. Jude ambassadors for donors of major and planned gifts, and our Philanthropic Advisors are stewards for members of the Danny Thomas - St. Jude Society, which is made up of donors who have included St. Jude in their estate plans.

 

Human Resources
The ALSAC Human Resources department works as a strategic partner to support the goals and objectives of the ALSAC mission. Our dedicated staff promotes a work environment that is characterized by inclusion and respect, fairness, open communication, personal accountability and trust. From recruitment and employee development to compensation and benefits, the Human Resources team provides services to our most important resource -- our employees.

 

Information Technology Services (ITS)
The Information Technology Services Department is responsible for the operation, enhancements, maintenance and support of all ALSAC technologies, including computers, networks, phone systems and software. ITS is comprised of following sub departments: Infrastructure and Support, ITS Project Management Operation, Application and Technology Services, Business Intelligence, Business Services and the Help Desk.

 

Legal
The Legal Department's goal is to serve as a proactive function supporting the fundraising activities of ALSAC for the support of research and treatment at St. Jude, in matters ranging from compliance, contracting and estates administration to assisting the fundraisers in designing effective and efficient programs that meet our organization's mission.

Additionally, the Legal Department reviews and registers trademarks, monitors trademark infringement, and investigates unauthorized fundraising issues. They also research international fundraising laws in order to maintain proper compliance in those areas.

 

National Direct Marketing
The mission of National Direct Marketing (NDM) is to acquire, profile, cultivate and retain St. Jude donors through television, Internet, telefunding, and direct mail channels in order to provide the necessary cash flow to support the needs of the hospital. Our donor acquisition and cultivation also serve to provide Gift Planning and other departments with donor leads for their individualized development strategies. Through education and communication, NDM will always strive to provide a top donor experience, while maintaining a gratifying work environment for our team members. NDM is made up of Donor Cultivation, TV Acquisition and Fundraising Programs; and Production and Analysis.

Strategic Management
The Strategic Management department is responsible for the strategy development and execution process at ALSAC. This includes creating ALSAC's long-term strategic plan, updating the organization level strategy map and Balanced Scorecard on an annual basis, and coordinating strategy implementation activities across all marketing and support divisions. The Strategic Management department is also responsible for monitoring performance against the strategic plan and communicating progress on a regular basis throughout ALSAC. The Strategic Management department is also responsible for driving strategic alignment with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and ensures integration between the strategic planning, budgeting and performance management processes at ALSAC.
