Electronic Event Reporting System (SJ-13-0036)
Description St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital researchers have developed an Electronic Event Reporting System (EERS) for logging patient care events. Event examples would include anything prior to reaching (or reaching) the patient, such as: fall, radiation safety, pathology, drug allergy or dosage or timing inconsistency, infection, etc. It would also include omissions, such as medication or treatment that was supposed to reach the patient but did not. It can also handle non-patient information such as needle-stick, visitor fall, etc. It also uses a standardized severity scale, auto populates demographic information, uses data standards, automates contacting responders, and is customizable based on specific needs.
