Endless Summer on the Riviera, Grand Prix in Monaco
Orange County raises $120,000 in support of St. Jude
Orange County showed its support for the patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on September 19, hosting the seventh annual “Endless Summer on the Riviera ~ Grand Prix in Monaco.” The event raised $120,000 to help fight childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
The fundraiser, hosted by local volunteer committee Orange County Friends of St. Jude, was held by the Baypool at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach. Guests had an opportunity to view some of the world’s most exclusive cars including a Bugatti Veyron, valued at $1.7 million, a Porsche Carrera GT, 1956 Ford Thunderbird courtesy of Crevier Classic Car Co., and a Bentley courtesy of Newport Bentley. The festive evening included a cocktail reception hosted by Carpe Diem Wine and Roederer Estate Sparkling Wine and a silent auction with items donated from local businesses around Newport Beach and Orange County.
During the evening, patrons met special guests from the hospital including Elizabeth, who was diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as brittle bone disease, before she was born. Elizabeth and her parents shared their story with the audience and their gratitude for all Orange County has done to raise awareness and funds for the hospital. There was also a live auction featuring many wonderful items including a shopping experience from Saks Fifth Avenue and South Coast Plaza, a custom golf club set from Cleveland Golf/Srixon, and a Costa Rica Adventure courtesy of Copa Airlines and the Agamalian Family.
Orange County Friends of St. Jude committee co-chairs Analisa Albert, Trish Coury and Maria Schechter were thrilled with the response and support from the community. “We are so grateful to the community and the Orange County Friends of St. Jude committee for making this event a huge success and for giving children like Elizabeth hope for a future.”
