St. Jude Spirit Week was celebrated July 26-30 as a number of events and festivities were planned for employees to show their pride and to celebrate the many accomplishments from the past year.
The highlight of the week was the sixth annual State of St. Jude Address by Dr. William E. Evans, St. Jude director and CEO. Employees filled the St. Jude Auditorium to listen to Evans, who discussed institutional highlights from the past year and priorities for the coming year.
A little friendly rivalry kicked the week off as employees proudly displayed their favorite team colors with shirts, jerseys and hats. The following day cake was served to employees in the hospital’s cafeteria, the Kay Kafe. Employees showed off their talents later in the week as they sang and danced to their favorite tunes during karaoke in the hospital’s auditorium. The festivities continued Friday as employees showed their pride by wearing their favorite St. Jude gear.
Also during Spirit Week, the 25 members of the inaugural class of St. Jude Select were honored in a graduation ceremony. St. Jude Select is a year-long professional development program for a select group of St. Jude, Children’s GMP, LLC, and ALSAC non-management employees.
