Research
In July 2005, little Lauren's doctors discovered a tumor in her abdomen. Lauren was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a common solid tumor that affects children. "We were shocked. We were discouraged," her father said. Lauren's doctor sent the little girl to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. At St. Jude, Lauren underwent surgery, chemotherapy, radiation treatments and a bone marrow transplant, all in an effort to save her life. Today, Lauren is walking, running and playing and is a ballet student. "I thank God for her every day," Lauren's mom said.
