Pharmacokinetics Nurses

Pharmacokinetics nurses Sheri Ring, Paula Condy and Lisa Walters

Pharmacokinetics is the study of the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs. Clinical Research Nurses in the pharmaceutical department work with other members of the Phase I team in many facets of your child's treatment. These nurses are specially trained for the special aspects of caring for the child with cancer and their families. They administer chemotherapy and obtain pharmacokinetic specimens used to monitor a patient's response to specific medications. With certain protocols, this information may also be used to adjust medication doses for individual patients. These nurses will be helpful in answering questions about your child's treatment plan and chemotherapy medications.
