When can I turn in my application for the Pathology Shadow Program?

Applications are accepted twice a year; March and April; September - November. Any applications sent before or after these times will not be considered.

Does St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital allow shadowing in patient care areas?

Due to HIPAA and patient privacy laws, shadowing is not allowed in patient care areas

Is the Pathology Shadow Program a paid Program?

The Pathology Shadow Program is not a paid program.

Does the Pathology Shadow Program offer benefits?

The Pathology Shadow Program does not offer benefits.

If selected for the Pathology Shadow Program will housing be provided?

Housing will not be provided.

How long is the Pathology Shadow Program?

The length of the Pathology Shadow program varies, but is approximately a four hour shadowing experience.

Who is eligible to apply for the Pathology Shadow Program?

Currently enrolled college students and a minimum of 18 years of age can enroll.

Should I apply for the Pathology Shadow Program if I am not a science major?

Yes; anyone enrolled in college in good academic standing should apply regardless of major.

What are the Pathology areas being shadowed?

Chemistry, blood bank and hematology laboratories are the areas currently shadowed.
