Childhood cancer by the numbers

This year, nearly 16,000 children in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer. One in five of them won’t survive. Those numbers aren't acceptable. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and, together, we can make a difference for children battling for their lives.

On average, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has more than 67,000 patient visits each year. Our daily operating cost for is $2 million, which is primarily covered by individual contributions.

For more information about how we have changed the way childhood cancer is treated and cured, view our Facts and Figures about St. Jude page or check out the progress we are making in survival rates.

At St. Jude, we are doing everything possible to find cures that could save the lives of children everywhere. Because even one child dying from cancer is one too many.
