Non-Therapeutic Protocol
SJLTFU: Protocol for Collecting Data on Childhood Cancer Survivors
Type of Protocol/Clinical Study
Supportive Studies: Long Term Effects
Description
Progress in the treatment of pediatric cancers has resulted in increasing numbers of long-term childhood cancer survivors. Investigators have an opportunity to evaluate the effects of cancer treatments which occur long after completion of these treatments. Cancer treatments may lead to a variety of other medical complications or other cancers. The short term effects for cancer treatments have been well documented. Long term monitoring of pediatric cancer survivors will help define conditions which arise, attempt to prevent complications, or provide early intervention for patients who are at risk.
