Build-A-Bear Workshop and St. Jude: A "Cause for Celebration"

A new partnership between St. Jude and Build-A-Bear Workshop® lets kids celebrate the milestones in their lives while helping children in communities everywhere in the fight against cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

The “Cause for Celebration” program, announced March 7, offers kids and families the opportunity to celebrate with parties at Build-A-Bear Workshop locations around the country and make a $10 donation to St. Jude. Build-A-Bear Workshop will match the donation up to the first 1,000 parties booked.

To kick off the program, Build-A-Bear Workshop donated $15,000 to St. Jude, and two special events were held in New York City and Memphis on March 7. St. Jude patients and families gathered at the hospital, and through a video conference call, were able to join Marlo Thomas, St. Jude national outreach director; Maxine Clark, founder and chief executive bear of Build-A-Bear Workshop; and other St. Jude kids and families at the company’s New York City store for a special message. Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Bearemy mascot added to the festive atmosphere in Memphis, posing for pictures with the kids of St. Jude and watching as they decorated doughnuts. Participants also received Build-A-Bear Workshop gift cards.
