Consultation and Intervention
The Psychology Clinic provides consultation and intervention for a number of patient presenting concerns. Some examples include:
- Anxiety
- Behavior problems
- Depression or other mood problems
- Trouble adjusting to treatment
- Distress during procedures
- Not taking medicines as prescribed (i.e., Treatment adherence difficulties)
- Pain
- Eating non-food substances (i.e., Pica)
- Pill swallowing problems
- Sleep disturbance
- Tobacco use and other unhealthy or risky behaviors
- Toileting problems
Our patients may benefit from psychological services in a number of ways, including: exhibiting improved coping, mood, and behavior; being better at following medical plans such as taking medications, wearing masks, etc.; exhibiting decreased distress during medical procedures; and learning how to better manage pain.
Crisis Intervention
The Psychology Clinic provides an on-call crisis intervention service after hours and on the weekends.
