Zoë is 5 years old and is from California.

Since she was 3 years old, Zoë’s been taking karate and is currently an orange belt. In March 2016, her family learned she had craniopharyngioma, a rare type of brain tumor. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor, but surgeons couldn’t remove it all because some of the tumor was entwined with her pituitary gland and near her visual pathways.

Her family turned to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for her continuing care, which will include 30 sessions of proton therapy.
