Keifer Gonzalez

Keifer Gonzalez is part of the Health Systems Unit within the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine, supporting the WHO Centre for Childhood Cancer. Gonzalez joins the team with over a decade of experience in geospatial information systems, data analysis, data science, and data management.

Gonzalez began his career at the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance, where he supported many of the U.S. government’s international humanitarian responses using geospatial analysis. This includes major events such as Super Typhoon Yolanda, the 2014 West Africa Ebola outbreak, and the complex emergencies in South Sudan, Syria, and Iraq.

After his time at USAID, Gonzalez provided broad analytical support for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s part of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, in addition to managing several projects in Angola and Namibia.

Gonzalez was born in the Philippines and grew up in parts of Southeast Asia and the United States. His background contributes to his interest in creating accessible communications for all audiences.
