Raisa Ioffe, MA

Raisa, in cooperation with departmental leadership, manages and oversees special events related to St. Jude International Outreach partner and collaborating sites around the globe. She facilitates all aspects of reception of foreign and national delegations, workshops, forums, international conferences and other special projects essential for development of pediatric programs and outreach activities in countries with limited resources. She performs cost analysis, and develops and maintains relationships with different vendors to improve access to the best available services and to ensure successful completion of each event.
Originally from Russia, Raisa grew up in Kazakhstan, a former Soviet Republic in Central Asia. She organized the first educational conference sponsored by St. Jude in St. Petersburg and Moscow with more than 200 Russian pediatric oncologists and hematologists. She also facilitated collaborative research between St. Jude and Federal Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology in Moscow. The results of this investigation were summarized in the manuscript published in Pediatric Blood & Cancer.
Raisa holds a Master's Degree in Journalism and has worked for the Kazakhstan Department of TASS – Russian News Agency for a number of years. She has been with the International Outreach Program since 1999.
