- International Visitors’ Program Coordinator
Allyson Lopez was born in New York City. She is of Puerto Rican heritage and grew up in a bilingual English-Spanish home. Allyson graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelors of Professional Studies with a concentration in Health Services Administration. She worked at Christ Community Health Services, in Memphis, before coming to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
In her current position, Allyson will coordinate the visits of all participants accepted into the International Visitors’ Program and will serve as a liaison between the visitors’ and the St. Jude staff/sponsors. For the last three years, she has worked as a clinical research assistant for Dr. Miguela Caniza, where she managed the finances of the team and provided coordination for international courses, meetings, and visits of international healthcare providers to St. Jude.
Allyson’s admiration for the work done at St. Jude, along with her passion and desire to contribute and make a difference has led her to continue working with the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine.
