As the Global Nursing Project Coordinator for the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Mrs. Sullivan is responsible for global pediatric oncology nursing initiatives with over 20 hospitals in mainly resource-limited countries. Presently, she oversees a Latin American pediatric oncology nurse educator training center, in Chile, and founded a Latin American nurse educator network. Mrs. Sullivan is actively involved in nursing projects and working groups in the Asia-Pacific and Eastern Mediterranean regions. Her role focuses on enhancing nursing quality and patient outcomes through implementing hospital- and regional-education programs, nursing standards and quality projects. Additionally, she serves in various roles within the Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurses (APHON), where she is currently Chair of the Global Outreach Committee. Recently, she co-led a pilot-series bringing the APHON chemotherapy/biotherapy certificate course to Latin America. Mrs. Sullivan is an active member of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) Pediatric Oncology in Developing Countries (PODC) Working Group and Baseline Nursing Standards Task Force. Presently, she is pursuing her PhD at the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a research interest of enhancing pediatric oncology nursing and patient outcomes.
