Courtney Hahn joined the International Outreach Program in May, 2013 as the Coordinator of Outreach Nursing Development. Her main responsibility is advancing pediatric oncology nursing education at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s international partner sites. From 2009 to 2013 she worked as a nurse on the Solid Tumor Inpatient Department at St. Jude, where she was an active participant in Unit Council and Evidence-Based Practice Council. She was selected to partake in the Excellence in Practice, Innovation & Care (EPIC) community leadership program through the Nursing Institute of the Mid-South, which aims to create leaders at the bedside. Courtney received her Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in Pediatric Acute and Continuing Care Nurse Practitioner through the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University.
Prior to pursuing nursing, Courtney spent time doing humanitarian work in developing nations. She has been a guest speaker for St. Jude volunteers and has given several presentations on compassion fatigue. Courtney has published, “Complementary and Integrative Therapies in Pediatric Oncology: What Is Hot, What Is Not, and What Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses Need to Know.” Courtney is a member of the Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurses (APHON) and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
