As part of the league’s mission to demonstrate leadership in social responsibility, NBA Cares reaches communities through philanthropy, hands-on service and legacy projects. Since October 2005 when NBA Cares was launched, the league and teams have raised more than $230 million for charity, provided more than 2.8 million hours of hands-on service, and built more than 860 places where kids and families can live, learn or play in communities around the world.
The National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association (NBATA) is a professional organization of highly-skilled certified athletic trainers who provide specialized health care and critical support services to the athletes and organizations of the National Basketball Association. The NBATA is dedicated to enhancing the professional stability of its members by maintaining an atmosphere of trust, support, motivation and involvement.
The Gasol Foundation is dedicated to empowering young people to live healthier lives. The foundation focuses its time, energy and financial resources on increasing physical activity and healthy eating with an initial emphasis on school-age children in Memphis and Los Angeles.
