Wishes made at St. Jude

St. Jude patient Avalyn

St. Jude patient Avalyn makes a wish before tossing a coin into a fountain at St. Jude.

When children run to toss a coin into a fountain at the mall or in the park, they might wish for a toy, a video game or their own cell phone. Yet at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, just being able to run to a fountain would be a gift for a child with cancer. The things our sweet girls and boys wish for are likely the same things we wish for them in our hearts.

Three-year-old Avalyn is one of the St. Jude children wishing, hoping and praying for healing right now. She was diagnosed with leukemia, and our doctors immediately began treating her with chemotherapy, which will continue for two-and-a-half years. Thanks to your generosity, children like Avalyn can continue to wish for a life without cancer.

Father's Day

St. Jude patient Gabrielle, with her father

St. Jude patient Gabrielle, with her father

Father’s Day is a day for children and families to celebrate Dad. It’s a day that might be spent cooking out on the grill in the heat of the summer. Dads are usually the ones who you’ll see carrying their sons and daughters atop their shoulders or playing catch in the front yard.

So why not celebrate Dad for grilling the best burgers and giving the best hugs? Send the father figures in your life a card featuring St. Jude patient artwork to help make their Father’s Day the best one yet.
