The St. Jude Garden of Eatin'

The garden provides nutrient packed food for patients and a delicious respite for volunteers and visitors

The garden provides nutrient packed food for patients and a delicious respite for volunteers and visitors.

Before the St. Jude Garden Grown by LOFT existed, it was a vacant lot located across the street from the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital campus. And most of the vegetables grown there now are destined for the hospital's cafeteria, called the Kay Kafe.

Meet the patient: Calvin

St. Jude patient Calvin, brain tumor

St. Jude patient Calvin, brain tumor

St. Jude patient Calvin was diagnosed with a brain tumor that caused excruciating headaches. But you wouldn't know it because his personality never waned. Calvin never meets a stranger, he's always dancing, and he loves his St. Jude family. Today, he's back home and living life to the fullest. "All the time, Calvin asks if it's time to go back to St. Jude," his mom said. "It gives me comfort that he loves the hospital so much."
