When families arrive at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, they are amazed and relieved to hear that they will not be asked for payment of any kind.
St. Jude provided us transportation to the hospital, they provided meals, they provided everything, and they never charged us for anything. It was a relief.
I can’t thank St. Jude enough for what they’ve done for Belle. Most importantly, they provided the medical care she needed at no cost to our family.
I fully expected I was going to have to sell everything to get David the care he needed. I was just overjoyed when I learned we had housing, we had meals, we had transportation. St. Jude provided me with the ability to stay with David so he could get the care he needed.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world. St. Jude may be located in Memphis, Tenn., but our impact is felt worldwide.
I tell my family, I tell my friends about St. Jude and what is happening with us here, and they say, ‘No, it is not possible.’ Nobody is ready to believe us. Unless someone comes here and experiences it, no one will believe that there could be such an organization in the world.
There's no way that we could afford to pay all of our copays and back and forth with just one income, and there's no way that I can work because you have to be here. A lot of people don't realize the extent of ‘you don't get a bill.’ All the way around, St. Jude is helping, making sure we're okay and providing us with support.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was founded by Danny Thomas on the promise that families will never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should have to worry about is helping their child live.
Your support makes a difference
Approximately 75% of the budgeted costs of St. Jude are covered by public contributions, which is why people like you are so important in fulfilling Danny’s promise.
Help us continue to provide peace of mind for families going through the most difficult time in their lives.
Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not.
