Greeter volunteers welcome all visitors who come into inpatient units by being a warm, kind face to all who enter. They help ensure infection control measures by screening all visitors. These volunteers help visitors gain entry by opening the electronic door, they answer the general unit telephone and prepare patient and discharge packets in downtime.
Greeter volunteers must be comfortable working around sick children, their families and hospital staff. Must be warm, friendly and have the ability to confirm to safety and infection control practices. Must be able to clearly communicate verbally in English. Three to four hour shifts are available between 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (with time for breaks and lunch), 7 days a week.
