If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a contribution of up to $100,000 annually from your IRA account to help the kids of St. Jude and potentially receive a tax benefit.

A donation transferred directly from your IRA administrator to St. Jude is generally not considered taxable income on your federal income tax return, but it does count toward your required minimum distribution. As always, please consult your advisors to determine if this type of gift is right for you.

For more information, please call (800) 395-4341 to speak to a St. Jude representative.

Donor advised funds

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a type of charitable investment account that provides an immediate tax benefit to you, and allows you to recommend grants to charities of your choice over time.

Granting to St. Jude through your DAF is simple and easy. You can recommend a gift to St. Jude today, or on a recurring basis (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually) to help the kids of St. Jude.

Foundations

Foundations provide critical support for our fight against the toughest cancers and other diseases threatening the lives of children. Your investment in our lifesaving work will be multiplied many times over, in your community and around the world.

Because we freely share discoveries made by St. Jude, every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists in communities around the world can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

Giving through a charitable lead trust

When you establish a charitable lead trust (CLT), a predetermined amount of the trust’s assets will be given to St. Jude annually for a set period of time. Afterward, the remainder of the funds can be transferred to the trust’s non-charitable beneficiaries, such as family members. Setting up a charitable lead trust may reduce or even eliminate gift and estate taxes on trust assets passing to family.
