2020 Benefits Open Enrollment

October 28-November 12, 2019

No matter where you are on your life’s journey, St. Jude offers benefits to support you and your family. And again this year, St. Jude is pleased to offer high-quality, affordable benefit programs. Open Enrollment is a great time to reevaluate everything from your health benefits to retirement choices so that you and your family are set up for success in the upcoming year. Choose coverage that’s the right fit for you.

Highlights

  • No increase to premiums, co-pays or deductibles for medical, dental and vision plans
  • Ask the Benefits team questions during the personalized coaching sessions 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. November 11 & 12.
  • No paper forms—everyone must log into the MYBenefits portal to enroll in or update benefits. (Open Enrollment is Oct 28 - Nov 12.)
  • Action required: Employees must log into MYBenefits and do the following:
    • Verify non-tobacco status to avoid tobacco user premium surcharge for medical plan
    • Electronically consent that you have read the HIPAA acknowledgment

Open Enrollment is your annual opportunity to evaluate your benefits and make changes for the upcoming plan year, which begins January 1, 2020. Use this site to learn what’s new and where to find more information.

  1. Follow these easy steps to make changes:

    Step 1:

    Read the 2020 Open Enrollment information on this site. Members of the Benefits Team will be available to answer your questions at help sessions:

    • 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, November 11 in the 595 Building, Room K1699
    • 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, November 12  in the Barry Building, Training Room F.

    No appointments are necessary. You can also e-mail questions to benefits@stjude.org or call ext. 4502 to speak with a Benefits team member.


     

    Step 2:

    Log into the MYBenefits portal.


     

    Step 3:

    The portal will guide you through your enrollment choices. Once you have entered all required information and made updates, click the “Save Enrollment” button. If adding/removing family members from coverage, be sure to upload supporting documents (i.e. certificates for marriage, birth, etc.).


     

    Please remember that all benefits-eligible employees must log into MYBenefits this year. Also, participation in a Flexible Spending Account does require annual enrollment. Benefits elected during Open Enrollment cannot be dropped during the plan year without a qualifying life event (i.e. marriage, divorce, birth, etc.)

    If adding/dropping a family member to coverage, please have supporting documentation (i.e. marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.)

    Open Enrollment deadline

    Open Enrollment will end at 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2020. There are no paper forms this year; all enrollments must be done through the MYBenefits portal.

  3. 2020 Highlights

    Health Plans

    No increase to premiums, co-pays or deductibles for medical, vision and dental plans.
    Action Required:
    Answer the tobacco question

    Verify whether you use tobacco products; tobacco users pay a $50/month premium surcharge for the medical plan.

    Those who do not answer the question will pay the surcharge.

    Tobacco users have an opportunity to sign up for tobacco cessation classes to avoid the surcharge.

    Action Required:
    Complete HIPAA acknowledgment
    Electronically consent that you have read the HIPAA acknowledgment when you enroll in the medical plan. This is similar to the form you would typically sign at a doctor’s office. The HIPAA acknowledgment is located before the Medical Plan section of the enrollment.
    Don't forget about these benefits
    Flexible Spending Accounts for health and dependent care — Participation in an FSA requires annual enrollment.(The $2,000 dependent care FSA contribution still offered to eligible parents of children under age six.)
    Hyatt Group Legal Plan
    InfoArmor Identity Theft Protection
    Aflac
    Life insurance (employee, spouse and/or children)
    Update beneficiary designations for life insurance
    Ensure all eligible family members are enrolled in Dependent Life Insurance — which is fully paid by St. Jude
    Ensure dependent Social Security Numbers are up-to-date
  4. What’s not changing?

    • No increase to medical, vision, prescription drug or dental premiums, deductibles or copays!
    • The dollar limits/rules concerning Flexible Spending Accounts have not changed.
    • $2,000 dependent care FSA contribution still offered to eligible parents of children under age six
    • St. Jude’s contributions to your retirement plan, life insurance and disability insurance also remain unchanged.
