St. Jude patient Sydney

astrocytoma anaplastic

Sydney was full of energy, laughter and music. She loved to sing, especially in church and with her family. She was artistic, too, and loved to draw and paint. She dreamed of being an art teacher or a fashion designer. Sydney was diagnosed with astrocytoma anaplastic when she was 9 years old. “St. Jude gave us hope,” said her mom. “A cure was never a possibility for us, but they gave us time and a better quality of life for Sydney. We’re forever grateful because St. Jude gave us more of all the things that matter most.” Sydney passed away when she was 11 years old. Team Ivestrong is participating in the St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon and Half Marathon for the fifth time.
