St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is proud to partner with Nick Jr., the commercial-free, educational preschool TV network from Nickelodeon, in promoting the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program which teaches children the concepts of bike and riding-toy safety while raising money for St. Jude.

Dora, the star of Nick Jr.'s animated television series Dora the Explorer, is the new spokesperson for the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program. Dora will appear in two television spots on Nick Jr. inviting children to embark on a unique adventure to make a difference in the lives of others. An international success, Dora the Explorer ranks among the top-rated shows in nearly every major market in the world, including broadcast and cable. Dora is broadcast all over the world, syndicated to TV broadcasters in 135 markets and translated in 24 languages. In fourth quarter 2009, Dora the Explorer is the No. 2 preschool show on all of commercial television. Nearly 26 million people watch Dora every month, including 7 million preschoolers.

Nick Jr.'s mission is to champion kids during their preschool years. Using an approach called connected learning, Nick Jr. helps kids make connections to learn from all of the everyday things that they do. The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program is a great way to teach kids bike and riding-toy safety through connected learning at their schools using interactive activities and by actually practicing bike safety at the event. Nick Jr. believes, as St. Jude does, that instilling important safety habits at an early age is critical in helping to avoid biking accidents.
