St. Jude patients celebrate Mardi Gras

Shiny streaks of color and the clicking of beads signaled the arrival of parading patients and families as they wound through the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Patient Care Center (PCC) to celebrate Fat Tuesday in seasonal fashion.

Patients and their siblings decorated feathery masks and strung colorful ribbons on wagons and wheelchairs before joining the Mardi Gras parade in the PCC lobby. Employees lined hallways and clinical waiting areas along the parade route to throw and catch the prized beads. The annual event is sponsored by the hospital’s Child Life Program.
