Hair loss is a common side effect of some cancer treatments. This article contains a list of resources available to St. Jude patients and families dealing with hair loss. We encourage you to look at these and other resources and make selections based on what works best for you and your loved ones. St. Jude does not endorse the use of these resources and does not make any guarantees about the goods or services provided by any particular vendor. If you choose to purchase items or services from these vendors, you are doing so at your own risk.
Caution: Some wigs and hairpieces require adhesives. Be sure to get approval from the doctor if you wish to order one of these items.
Reimbursement for Wig or Hairpiece Purchases (one-time service)
St. Jude will reimburse families that wish to purchase a wig or hairpiece for a patient up to $75 dollars. Families should purchase the wig or hairpiece and save the receipt, then submit it to their social worker. The hospital will need to show who received the reimbursement:
- Parents who are US citizens or permanent residents will complete W-9 Form.
- Parents who are Foreign Nationals will complete the W-8 Form.
You can get the correct form from your St. Jude social worker.
