Godwina was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2023, and came to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for treatment with her mom, Evelyn. It was the first time they had traveled far from home.

She then underwent surgery to remove one of her kidneys. and celebrated her 6th birthday in the summer of 2024 at St. Jude..

“When I came here, Godwina was very sick,” Evelyn said. “Now she’s happy and she’s growing.”
