St. Jude founder Danny Thomas had a bold dream, rooted in philanthropy and generosity.  Danny’s dream was plainspoken and bold: “No child should die in the dawn of life.”  His inclusive vision meant children everywhere.

Meet Avyan

What first seemed like a simple childhood virus began to worry Avyan’s parents when it wasn’t resolving. They brought Avyan in to see his local pediatrician who ordered testing, including a scan of his brain.

Neither Avyan nor his parents were expecting what came next ... they were told he had a cancerous tumor in his brain. That's when Avyan was referred to St. Jude.

Meet Aspen

Aspen was only a year and ten months when she was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma. She underwent treatment in the Philippines, using a protocol developed and shared by St. Jude doctors and researchers. But six months later, the cancer was spreading again.

With a referral to St. Jude, Aspen and her family traveled to the United States — for the first time.

Highlights from the 2021 St. Jude Dream Chicago

In 2021, our Chicago community came together to celebrate the inaugural St. Jude Dream Chicago.  Thanks to the generosity of our local supporters, we raised $1.7 million for the patients and their families of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

As we count down the days until the 2022 event, let’s reminisce about our favorite memories from last year.

The inaugural St. Jude Dream Chicago was held at Millennium Park on August 8, 2021. Take a look inside the event experience including the St. Jude Journey, event activations, and Evening of Epic Entertainment featuring performances by The Chicago Mass Choir, Jessica Vosk and the Temptations.
