When Hayley was 9 years old, a family trip to NASA opened her eyes to what lay beyond Earth. Months later, her world was turned upside down: She was diagnosed with bone cancer.

At St. Jude, Hayley received chemotherapy and limb-sparing surgery. Her experience at St. Jude — where families never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything — inspired a new dream: helping kids like her.

In 2019, she returned to St. Jude as a physician assistant, helping other families deal with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Now Hayley has another way to offer inspiration to St. Jude patients: In February 2021, she was chosen to represent "Hope" on Inspiration4, the world's first all-civilian mission to orbit the earth.

Hayley's making history:
- the youngest American to go to space
- the first person with a prosthesis to go to space

Inspiration4 has set a goal of raising $200 million to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude, so children everywhere can have a brighter future. Just like Hayley.
