Mayya Assaad is the Co-Founder of BASMA Association for Supporting Children with Cancer and their Families in Syria and new to St. Jude Global. Her journey with pediatric cancer care began in 2003 when she visited a local pediatric oncology ward and found the conditions to be “heartbreaking.”
Three years later, BASMA (which means ‘smile’ in Arabic) was formed. Today, the foundation struggles to raise funds to save children with cancer in Syria. Hear her story and her hopes for the future.


Irina Bordeianu is the Fundraising & Marketing Manager for St. Jude Global partner Life without Leukemia foundation in Moldova. She became involved with the foundation when her own daughter was treated for cancer there and eventually quit her job to fundraise for them full time.
Hear her story and how her participation in the ALSAC Global Scholars program benefited her foundation and the children of Moldova. Life without Leukemia has played a crucial role in the SAFER Ukraine efforts as Ukraine is their next-door neighbor.

She has an innovative flair, and treats each event as a “special” performance.
She is able to effortlessly combine her expertise in entertainment, fashion, fundraising and her humanitarian efforts to help so many in need, and make a difference in peoples’ lives. In addition, Ms. Frye is a motivational speaker and aspiring author . She believes that passion is the secret to success in work and life.


Trey Morris is a professional benefit auctioneer who specializes in maximizing live event in room fundraising while increasing donor engagement. He has become a regular auctioneer for some of America’s top nonprofit organizations.
Trey combines passion, excitement, and energy through the live auction and special appeal fundraising, regularly meeting and exceeding his client’s monetary goals. As both a trained and experienced Public Address Announcer and auctioneer, Trey brings benefit and fundraising galas the full package. Audiences are captivated and engaged in live events where full participation is encouraged.
Suheir Rasul is the Vice President of ALSAC Global Alliances. As part of the St. Jude Global mission, ALSAC shares its fundraising experience and expertise with non-profit foundations around the world to help build sustainable revenue in the fight against pediatric cancer in low- and middle-income countries.
Suheir is an award-winning former broadcast journalist and worked as the Co-Director of Search for Common Ground in East Jerusalem, Israel and Palestine for nine years before joining ALSAC.


Richard C. Shadyac Jr. was named the President and Chief Executive Officer of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in September 2009. He serves as ALSAC’s sixth CEO since the organization’s founding in 1957.

Evie Skoda manages Communications for ALSAC Global Alliances facilitating the creation of St. Jude Global stories across the organization for all audiences. A former freelance writer, spokesperson, and public relations coordinator, she worked for the St. Jude Department of Psychology for three years before coming to ALSAC a year and a half ago to support the global expansion of the St. Jude mission.
