- Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common type of childhood cancer.
- ALL affects white blood cells, causing them to build up in the liver, spleen and lymph nodes.
- St. Jude patients with ALL have a 94% survival rate.

Brain tumor
- Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant childhood brain tumor.
- Occurring in the cerebellum, it affects balance and coordination.
- St. Jude is conducting an SJDAWN clinical trial for patients with treatment-resistant medulloblastomas.

Rhabdomyosarcoma
Soft tissue cancer
- Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common childhood type of cancerous tumor that arises in the soft tissue, such as muscles.
- About two-thirds of cases are diagnosed in children younger than age 10.
- St. Jude has the world’s only proton therapy center dedicated to treating children. This therapy is precise and reduces side effects and the development of cancers in later life.
