Grit is being treated for soft tissue cancer

In late 2017, Grit developed flu-like symptoms and stopped eating. His parents, Laura and Nolan, noticed a lump in his pelvic area.

Tests revealed that Grit had rhabdomyosarcoma, a soft tissue cancer.

Laura’s aunt, a retired oncology nurse, was familiar with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and she urged them to reach out for a referral.

 
 

Families, like Grit's, will never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything.

  1. At St. Jude, Grit’s treatment included proton therapy and chemotherapy.

    During Grit's treatment, Laura and Nolan were amazed by the approach that St. Jude took to patient care.
