Cooking with Javon: tater tot casserole

Tater Tot Casserole


·      1 lb. ground beef

·      2 10.5 oz cans cream of mushroom soup

·      1 32 oz. bag frozen tater tots

·      2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

·      Creole seasoning to taste (optional)

·      Cooking spray


1.     Preheat oven to 350˚ .

2.     Sauté ground beef over medium high heat until browned.

3.     Turn heat to low and stir in the cream of mushroom soup until well mixed.

4.     Season to taste if desired.

5.     In a large casserole dish that has been coated with cooking spray, fill the bottom with half of the tater tots to create an even layer.

6.     Spoon half of the meat sauce evenly over the tater tots.

7.     Sprinkle half of the grated cheese evenly over the meat sauce.

8.     Repeat the layers of tater tots, meat sauce, and remaining cheese.

9.     Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown and the casserole is bubbling along the edges.

10.  Serve and enjoy!
