Research Interest

Studying cardiac injury in Sickle cell disease. I am interested in studying the natural course of sickle-cell related cardiac injury, identifying risk factors (genetic and non-genetic) that contribute to disease progression as well as get a better understanding of the underlying etiology of this cardiac dysfunction. In addition, study the effects of current disease modifying therapy (hydroxyurea and chronic transfusion) in ameliorating this injury.
