Research Interests

  • Developing and applying advanced light and electron microscopy, artificial intelligence, and computational tools to reveal cellular structure and dynamics
  • Investigating mitochondrial and organelle dynamics, cytoskeletal organization, and inter-organelle interactions in health and disease
  • Defining cellular mechanisms that contribute to hearing loss, peripheral neuropathy, neurodegeneration, and treatment-related neurotoxicity
  • Developing gene, small-molecule, and regenerative strategies for rare neurologic and sensory disorders affecting children
  • Creating open-source deep learning-based imaging and analysis tools that accelerate collaborative and reproducible biomedical research
