Allyson Andujar was born in New York City. She is of Puerto Rican heritage and grew up in a bilingual English-Spanish home. Allyson graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Professional Studies with a concentration in Health Services Administration. She worked at Christ Community Health Services in Memphis for four years before coming to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Among her many responsibilities in her current role, Allyson organizes in-person and online meetings and workshops, and designs, coordinates, implements and provides oversight of project activities and initiatives. Allyson acts as a liaison with other members of the department and collaborators to ensure coordination and success of various programs.
Allyson previously spent three years as Coordinator of the International Visitors Program. She coordinated the visits of all participants accepted into the program and served as a liaison between the visitors and the St. Jude staff/sponsors. Previous to working with the International Visitors Program, she worked as a clinical research assistant for Miguela Caniza, MD, MPH, in Global Infectious Diseases where she managed the finances of the team and provided coordination for international courses, meetings and visits of international health care providers to St. Jude.
Allyson’s admiration for the work done at St. Jude, along with her passion and desire to contribute and make a difference has led her to continue working with the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine.
