Lara received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. After college, she worked on a research team at Magee-Womens Research Institute in Pittsburgh, studying how events during pregnancy relate to child health outcomes. She then continued her education and obtained a Master of Public Health with a specialization in global health from Washington University in St. Louis.
Lara’s previous basic and clinical research experience has been in pediatric genetics, maternal and child health, microbiology, and pediatric infectious disease. She completed her graduate practicum with the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine in the summer of 2022 and continued working with the department as a contractor in the Global Critical Care Program.
She enjoys working and collaborating with diverse teams and is excited to continue her journey at St. Jude. Outside of work Lara enjoys traveling, reading and spending time outdoors.
