Maysam grew up in Memphis but has spent the past five years in Boston, Massachusetts. There, she earned her Bachelor of Health Science from Boston University and her Master of Public Health from Boston University’s School of Public Health, concentrating in Global Health with an emphasis in Health Program Management. She has a range of field experience, from volunteering in pop-up medical clinics in rural Costa Rica, to interning at an HIV/AIDS non-governmental organization in Geneva, Switzerland, to conducting a household-level monitoring and evaluation survey of the community health worker strategy in Loitokitok district, Kenya. Maysam speaks Arabic and French and brings with her an intimate knowledge of Middle Eastern culture and language.

In her position at St. Jude, Maysam works with international partner sites, assisting with the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of infection care and prevention projects. Maysam’s research interests lie in the social and behavior change facets of health-centered interventions, as well as broader global health issues, like maternal and child health and nutrition. In her spare time, Maysam enjoys reading, traveling, and browsing local flea markets.
