Short Biography

Diane leads the Strategic Communication, Education and Outreach (SCEO) team at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of more than 100 professionals — including strategists, writers, designers, videographers, patient educators, digital specialists, and web developers. SCEO serves as a strategic communication and marketing partner to more than 120 departments across the institution, supporting virtually every major initiative within St. Jude's $12.9B, six-year strategic plan and owning patient education initiatives within it. Diane is a member of the St. Jude senior leadership team and serves as the institution's primary counsel on crisis and issues management.

With more than 30 years of experience spanning academic medicine, global health, digital strategy, and corporate operations, Diane is known for translating complex science and clinical care into clear, compelling communications that advance institutional reputation, driving targeted patient and employee recruitment, and strengthening collaboration across St. Jude internal and external partners. Before joining St. Jude, Diane spent 20 years in sales, marketing, and operations roles across at The Coca-Cola Company.

Diane is a co-investigator on an NCI-funded grant examining multi-channel communication campaigns for improvements in cancer education and outcomes. She has presented at international conferences including the International Pediatric Oncology Society and the International Cancer Education Conference. Diane and the team have been recognized with multiple national awards, including PRSA Silver and Bronze Anvil Awards, PRovoke SABRE Awards, Ragan Awards, and a Cancer Patient Education Network Excellence in Patient Education Award.
