Sharif Onihale is a Clinical Research Associate II – NACHO for the department of Global Pediatric Medicine. The path that led to joining St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital began with his completion of a bachelor’s in physics, Master of Art, physics and Master in Computer Science Information Technology from Loyola University Chicago.

Sharif worked as a science instructor in the Chicago Public Schools where he taught middle school students. It was a remarkable experience that allowed him to contribute positively to students’ life by assisting them to learn science fundamentals, engage in hands-on lab activities, perform basic lab processes, write lab reports, and integrate classroom activities into their real-life pursuits. Sharif’s efforts produced students who exceled brilliantly in the science ISAT exam.

As a result of his passion for clinical research, in 2015, Sharif joined Research Specialties CRO as a clinical research associate and was able to initiate mentorships and collaboration among colleagues by sharing novel ideas that led to successful monitoring tasks and extending clinical trials to naïve sites.

In 2019, he joined Syneos Health Inc. as clinical research associate II and worked on different sponsored therapeutic indications. Sharif’s success in this role eventually led to his promotion as the primary site monitor. Consequently, he took over some non-performing sites and enlivened them to perform beyond the goals set forth for them. Sharif collaborated with other team members to assist given sites with IRB stipulations and sought approvals. He also co-monitored with colleagues as needed to enhance successful monitoring tasks.

In addition, Sharif is a long-life learner who is fascinated with emerging ideas, passionate about meeting with people from all works of life to learn different cultures and zealous to contribute positively to the betterment of humanity.
