- Business Analyst I, Global Professional Education – Distance Learning
Departments
John Provasnik is a business analyst I, overseeing LMS system administration needs within the Cure4Kids platform for the Global Professional Education team.
Before joining St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Provasnik spent 18 years working in the field of education. After graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, he served as a middle school teacher in under-resourced communities for three years. Observing how low funding and lack of resources negatively affected students’ academic progress and outcomes sparked his passion for integrating technology within the classroom and curriculum. Provasnik received an MS in education from Wilkes University in "21st Century Teaching & Learning" and continued to serve as an elementary teacher for six years at a technology- and community-centered school.
To focus primarily on developing web-based skills that enhanced online instructional delivery, Provasnik left the brick-and-mortar classroom to become an instructional systems design technology developer for a Pennsylvania-based cyber charter school. After nine years of utilizing a variety of distance learning systems and services, he leveraged his experience and LMS expertise as an independent contractor for St. Jude Global in August 2023, where he worked alongside the Professional Education team on the Cure4Kids platform relaunch project.
