Maricela Robles-Murguia is Clinical Research Associate I, Clinical Research Operations for the department of Global Pediatric Medicine. Maricela is originally from Mexico where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the Universidad de las Americas-Puebla. She later earned a Master of Science in Entomology focused on Infectious Diseases from Kansas State University.
Maricela joined St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in August 2015 under the laboratory of Dr. Fabio Demontis in the Department of Developmental Neurobiology. Her work focused on dissecting the role of muscle-to-brain signaling in aging and age-related disease. After four years of productive research, she transitioned to the Talent Acquisition team in the Department of Human Resources as a Scientific Recruiter where she collaborated with principal investigators and hiring managers to identify scientists to join the different departments across St. Jude. Maricela has also worked in the University of Notre Dame and Kansas State University on different research projects related to Circadian Biology, Cancer, and Infectious Diseases.
Maricela enjoys working and collaborating with the diverse culture of professionals, scientists, and physicians at St. Jude, and she is looking forward to contributing with Global Pediatric Medicine into making a worldwide impact on the accessibility to quality health care for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
