Madeline McNee is a Program Coordinator for the HPV Cancer Prevention Program at St. Jude, a community outreach program which aims to reduce human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated cancer deaths locally and nationally by increasing HPV vaccination rates.
McNee is responsible for co-leading the HPV Vaccination Roundtable of the Southeast, a group of people and partners across the Southeast U.S. region working to prevent HPV cancers through the three primary action areas of communication, elimination of HPV cancers starting with cervical cancer, and starting HPV vaccination as age 9 and other best practices.
“As co-lead of the Southeast Roundtable, it is exciting to work with such dedicated and energizing partners from across the Southeast region” says McNee. “I hope that we can continue to grow the Southeast Roundtable to support parents and caregivers in making evidence-based HPV vaccination decisions, work with providers to make confident HPV vaccination recommendations, and share best practices to eliminate HPV cancers. We are just getting started, and there is so much more important work to be done.”
Prior to joining the HPV Cancer Prevention Program in November 2024, McNee worked in the field of adolescent immunizations and has gained experience in global public health, working to amplify HPV stigma-reduction strategies in sub-Saharan Africa. McNee has developed a specific interest in addressing health disparities, advancing access to health information through communication strategies, and vaccine policy.
McNee holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University and a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
