Shaloo Puri received her MBBS and postgraduate training in respiratory diseases from Delhi University in India. She went on to earn her MPH from Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health followed by an MPA and the Mason Fellowship in Public Policy and Management from Harvard University’s Kennedy School. She is a global health leader with over 28 years of experience of transformational impact in complex multi- sectoral settings at country and global levels. She has held leadership positions in premier organizations including Harvard University, World Economic Forum and World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with USAID, Global Fund, Gates Foundation, World Bank, UN and other international public and private institutes. She is a distinguished thought leader and strategist with expertise in policy research, health systems strengthening, health sector reform, and in leading innovative multi-stakeholder partnerships and educational programs across the spectrum of global health and health systems.
Shaloo directed and taught in the Doctor of Public Health Program at Harvard University prior to her move to St. Jude in July 2018. Passionate about education, she is dedicated to teaching and mentoring the next generation of change agents and leaders in child health. She leads the Master of Science in Global Child Health Program at the Graduate School and is also a Professor of Instruction. She also serves as the Senior Director of the Global Scholars Program of the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital fostering and enabling systems-level change in global child health programs to enhance equity, access and quality of treatment and care for children worldwide.
