Dylan Graetz, MD, MPH

Dylan Graetz, MD, MPH, is a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellow, conducting research in Global Pediatric Medicine.
Dylan was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and gradually moved south until her arrival in Memphis. She completed medical training and a master’s in public health at the University of Connecticut and completed pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dylan’s research focuses on how culture affects communication, which in turn affects outcomes for children with cancer. She is particularly interested in the communication needs of patients and families at the time of diagnosis and is engaged in work evaluating interdisciplinary communication and communication around patient deterioration events. Dylan is developing mixed methods research skills, including qualitative work involving semi-structured interviews. She continues to be actively engaged with clinical care at St. Jude and takes care of both oncology and hematology patients.
