Research Interests

  • Derivation and directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells (including embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells from mouse, rat and human species) as models for investigating developmental events in vitro and in vivo and as substrates for gene editing.
  • Using newly developed genome editing technology (TALEN and CRISPR/Cas9) systems to mutate genes in mouse ES cells and zygotes to generate compound mutant genotypes and as an approach for identifying and characterizing regulators of early organismal development and tumor initiation and progression.
