Naveed ur Rehman Siddiqui is a dedicated pediatric intensivist and educator whose career has been shaped by a mission to elevate critical care for children in resource-limited settings. Based in Karachi, Pakistan, he serves as Consultant Pediatric Intensivist and Assistant Professor at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), where he leads the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) service and fellowship program. He also directs quality and safety initiatives in the pediatric intensive care unit and has helped shape the future of the field through simulation-based education and national capacity-building efforts.
After earning his medical degree from Sindh Medical College, Siddiqui completed pediatric residency and a fellowship in pediatric critical care at AKUH, followed by advanced training at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. He further enhanced his academic and leadership credentials through Harvard Medical School’s Global Clinical Scholars Research Training Program and the Developing Healthcare Leaders for Tomorrow program at AKUH.
Siddiqui’s clinical and research interests include pediatric sepsis, neurocritical care, mechanical ventilation, and renal replacement therapy. He is committed to developing evidence-based care models tailored to the needs of low- and middle-income countries, and his work has been published in journals including Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and BMJ Open. As founding president of the Pakistan Pediatric Critical Care Society and a contributor to the Society of Critical Care Medicine and Global Sepsis Alliance, he is helping drive both national and international improvements in pediatric care.
His motivation for joining the Global Child Health master's program at the St. Jude Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences stems from a desire to formalize his expertise in health systems improvement, research methodology, and global health leadership. Siddiqui hopes to expand equitable access to high-quality pediatric critical care and contribute to a future where geography and income are no longer barriers to life-saving treatment.
