Daniel Tatay, MD

Joining the St. Jude Graduate School from Cordoba, Argentina, Daniel Tatay, MD, is passionate about improving outcomes for children with cancer in resource-limited settings by strengthening health systems, applying implementation science and educational programs.

Tatay’s research interest primarily focuses on strategies to reduce disparities in access to high-quality family-centered care, such as early warning systems, workforce training, and decentralized care models.

Prior to joining St. Jude, Tatay earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Buenos Aires University in 2011 before completing a pediatric specialist program four years later. He also completed a pediatric residency program in 2015 at Hospital Nacional A.Posadas.

Tatay joins the St. Jude Graduate School Global Child Health program to gain formal training in global health, implementation science, and health systems. These areas are key to turning his clinical experience into lasting, wide-reaching change. Working in pediatric oncology, Tatay has seen ongoing gaps in access to care, which has driven him to learn how to develop and implement effective solutions that meet local needs. This program will give him the skills, guidance, and network needed to improve cancer care for children in Argentina and other places with limited resources.
